Focus curriculum in pediatric and adolescent medicine at Marburg
Pediatric and adolescent medicine places special demands on students because it encompasses a wide range of specialties in the context of a dynamic development process. Neonatology, pediatric neurology, pediatric pulmonology, pediatric gastroenterology, pediatric nephrology and pediatric emergency medicine all play a special role at Marburg. How do I recognize the leading symptoms? Which examination findings can I collect? How do I talk to the parents? What therapy options do I have? These are questions we would like to discuss with you on the basis of case studies.
Objectives of the focus curriculum
- Teaching the foundations and special aspects of diagnostics and therapy for children and adolescents
- Understanding therapy and diagnostics in the context of the development process
- Mastering developmental milestones from infancy to adolescence
- Providing insight into concrete clinical practice
- Becoming familiar with the special aspects of psychiatric disorders of childhood and adolescence
- Teaching the foundations of scientific/academic work
Target group
The Marburg Focus Curriculum in Pediatrics is aimed at students of human medicine at Philipps-Universität Marburg who have successfully completed the first section of the medical examination and who have an above-average interest in this multifaceted subject.
