Catalogues & Databases

  • Katalog Plus and OPAC

The holdings of the Marburg University Library are listed in successive union catalogues. In our main catalogue, Katalog Plus, you will find books as well as articles with just one search. For more information about this catalogue, klick here.

The Open Public Access Catalogue (OPAC (1974-) is a classical online catalogue. It contains the University Library’s current holdings. Older holdings are being added to it continually. The OPAC provides users with convenient navigation and search options for the media holdings of the entire university library as well as an integrated ordering system. The OPAC and the ordering system are also represented in the "books & more" part of Katalog Plus.

  • Databases (DBIS)

    Fulltext, bibliographies and reference works.
Access using the database information system organized according to subject.

  • Catalogues

    Digitalized Card Catalogues:

    • The Union Catalogue (1930-1973) is a digital card catalogue offering different possibilities for a specific, direct search. It contains books, maps, sheet music and microforms from this period which have not yet been entered into the OPAC. It does not contain any journals.  These have all been integrated into the OPAC without regard to chronological order.
For more information on contents and search possibilities in the Union Catalogue (1930-1973) please click here.
    • The Union Catalogue (-1929) and the catalogues for Dissertations (-1986), University Publications (-1986) and “Schulschriften” are digital card catalogues for which the search possibilities are limited to scrolling backwards and forwards between the entries. You can get access to these catalogues here. Information about the so-called Guide-Card Catalogues is available here. If you are not sure how to use the digital card catalogues, please ask at the information desk.
